Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Received H.E. Ms. Alexandra Cole, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia
At the beginning of the meeting, the parties touched upon a number of environmental issues that have recently been in the spotlight, emphasizing the importance of forest fire prevention, enhancing rapid response systems, and reducing air pollution. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of environmental monitoring, particularly in strengthening atmospheric air quality control capacities.

Yerevan, Armenia — On November 26-27 the United Nations Development Programme, in collaboration with the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Environment and EW4ALL Pillar Leads (UNDRR, WMO, ITU, IFRC) organized a national self-assessment workshop to assess the state of Armenia’s EWS within the framework of the “Early Warnings for All” (EW4All) global initiative.

Regional Dialogue Under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Held
From November 25 to 28, Yerevan hosted a regional dialogue under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), implemented by the Convention Secretariat, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the UNEP Regional Office for Europe, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and funding from the UNDP China Trust Fund and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
