Vahe Davtyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, met with World Bank partners to discuss the results of analytical work conducted by the World Bank in 2018 within the framework of the National Disaster Risk Management Programme. As part of the analysis, a technical assessment was carried out of the “Service of Hydrometeorology and Active Influence on Atmospheric Phenomena” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, based on the needs of service users. The assessment identified existing gaps and challenges in the development and delivery of weather, climate, and hydrological information and services. The meeting also addressed the report “Modernizing Weather, Climate and Hydrological Services: A Roadmap for Armenia,” which aims to support the modernization of SNCO services and to facilitate the effective planning and implementation of sectoral reforms.
