The Norms of Building Climatology will Change

The norms of building climatology will change, taking into account the increasing rate of climate warming.
"Construction Climatology" RA construction norms were reworked by the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" of the Ministry of Environment.
The revision of the norms will make it possible to make more accurate calculations before construction to avoid future problems. Snow load on roofs, maximum wind speed, as well as minimum and maximum temperatures, in all aspects, if the mentioned norms are applied in construction, then it will only have a positive effect on performing quality construction works.
"Construction climatology presents climatic parameters, that is, parameters that are used in the design of buildings and constructions, heating, ventilation, air quality, water supply systems, as well as planning and construction of urban and rural settlements. There is a need to review the norms we have, taking into account the increasing pace of climate warming both in the world and in Armenia," said Levon Azizyan, director of the SNOC, during the conference.
During the last 90 years, according to meteorological observations, the four warmest years in Armenia were observed in 2010, 2018, 2021. The increase in temperature occurs most rapidly in the summer season, which is expressed by a significant increase in the frequency of heat waves and intense heat.
The new construction norms are approved and published on the unified website of legal acts.
