A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Environment of the RA on the implementation of Armenia's commitments under the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats.
The representatives of the "Ecolur" Informational NGO, the “Armenia Forests" Environmental NGO, the "Green Armenia" Environmental NGO, the International CEE Bankwatch Network, as well as several other environmental and civil society organizations and international experts attended the meeting.
The discussions took place in a constructive atmosphere, providing an open platform for dialogue between the Ministry and stakeholders. Participants addressed several issues of public interest, including the review process of candidate emerald sites in Armenia, environmental concerns related to the Amulsar mine, and other current pressing environmental matters.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain ongoing dialogue to fully consider the concerns and suggestions raised by civil society, thereby ensuring transparency, inclusiveness, and active public participation in the environmental decision-making process.
