The 16th of September Marks the United Nations International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
The Ozone Layer is our planet’s shield that protects all living organisms from the harmful ultraviolet radiation of the sun. Its preservation is vital for human health, biodiversity, and the environment.
Forty years ago, nations came together under the Vienna Convention, committing to take decisive measures to protect the Ozone Layer—the Earth’s only shield against the Sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Armenia became part of this global effort in 1999.
