On the eve of International Youth Day, the “Zangezur” Biosphere Complex SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the RA organized an event highlighting the role of youth in preserving environmental balance. The event took place in the “Arevik” National Park of the Zangezur Biosphere Complex, bringing together young participants from neighboring communities.
The event was opened by employees of the SNCO, who presented the goals of International Youth Day, the importance of biodiversity, the challenges arising from negative human impact and possible solutions, with particular emphasis on the upcoming #COP17 – the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in Armenia in 2026.
Participants then joined a hike along the Lichk Waterfalls Trail in Arevik National Park.
The event concluded with a joint cleanup activity.
