A press conference was held at the “Armenpress” news agency’s press room, featuring Liana Ghahramanyan, Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Environment of the RA and National Coordinator for the Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer; Anahit Asatryan, Head of the Heliogeophysics and Radiology Department at the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the RA; and Ruben Grigoryan, Head of the “Environmental Hygiene Department at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention” SNCO of the Ministry of Health of the RA.
Experts emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation to better protect human health.
UV radiation, particularly on sunny summer days, can pose serious health risks. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight without proper protection is especially dangerous.
The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the RA prepares daily UV index maps, which are available on the websites saveozone.am and meteomonitoring.am.
