Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan Met With Deputy Head of Mission and Trade and Investment Officer at the British Embassy Yerevan and Climate Change Coordinator

Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Paul Morris, Deputy Head of Mission and HM Consul at the British Embassy Yerevan, and Paytsar Abrahamyan, Trade and Investment Officer at the British Embassy Yerevan and Climate Change Coordinator.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Armenia’s key environmental priorities and the opportunities for future international cooperation in these areas. Particular attention was given to the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in Armenia in 2026, with emphasis on its significance within the global environmental agenda.
Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan also presented the ongoing work on the RA Government Draft Decision “On Approving the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan of Armenia”, which is designed to ensure biodiversity conservation, the sustainable management of natural resources, and the effective implementation of environmental policy.
The parties discussed upcoming major environmental events, Armenia’s participation in them, and the agendas to be presented. The meeting underscored the importance of deepening Armenian-British cooperation and implementing joint initiatives aimed at strengthening Armenia’s environmental capacities and ensuring the effective fulfillment of its international environmental obligations.
