Field visit to Gegharkunik region by the partners of the Ecoserv program

The delegation of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), together with representatives of partner ministries, organized a field visit to Gegharkunik region within the framework of the Ecoserv environmental program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Within the framework of the program, about 300.42 hectares of arable land were developed in Gegharkunik, Lori and Shirak regions of the Republic of Armenia, which belong to 326 farmers.
Within the framework of the COVID-19 response program "restoration of river riparian territories in Armenia", willow acreage was studied in the vicinity of the Artsvanist River.
Representatives of partner ministries conducted their observations and attached great importance to the actions of the program both economically and environmentally, since the results of these actions create a favorable environment for the ecosystem of the region and especially Lake Sevan.
Reducing pressure and improving natural ecosystems will also have a significant positive impact on mitigating the negative effects of climate change in the future.
