Within the framework of COP30 being held in the Federative Republic of Brazil, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. The discussions covered the agreements reached during Astrid Schomaker’s recent visit to Armenia, as well as the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
The Minister reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to continue active and constructive cooperation with the Convention Secretariat to advance the international biodiversity agenda and ensure the effective organization and agenda of COP17.
Astrid Schomaker emphasized Armenia’s responsibility and important role in the preparatory process for COP17.
The parties will continue to work together to ensure a high-level conference that contributes to strengthening global efforts for nature conservation.
