Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, has departed for Belém, Federative Republic of Brazil to participate in the 30th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).
The goal of COP30 is to advance global climate action and support the full implementation of the Paris Agreement, ensuring fair, effective, and sustainable cooperation among countries aimed at overcoming the climate crisis. The conference also provides heads of state and government with a platform to present their positions and national visions on environmental protection, natural resource conservation, food security, and disaster risk reduction.
COP30 serves as a key global platform for discussing climate and environmental policies, strengthening cooperation between countries and regions, and taking strategic action to ensure sustainable development, address the climate crisis, and effectively implement international environmental agreements.
The conference also offers an opportunity to consolidate multilateral environmental initiatives and promote scientific, technological, and policy innovation to develop solutions with global impact.
