Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received a delegation from the Asian Development Bank, led by Yevgeniy Zhukov, Director General for Climate Change and Sustainable Development. The meeting focused on preparations for the COP17, which will be held in Armenia in 2026. The Minister briefed the delegation on the outcomes of the discussions held with international partners in New York and the agreements reached. It was emphasized that the COP17 agenda should be inclusive, diverse, and comprehensive. The Minister expressed gratitude to the Asian Development Bank for its readiness to support the preparatory and organizational processes of the conference. The meeting also addressed ongoing projects in the field of biodiversity, with particular attention to initiatives aimed at preserving the Lake Sevan ecosystem. The discussion reaffirmed the shared commitment of the parties to ensuring that COP17 serves as an effective and successful platform for Armenia to showcase its responsible approach and contribution to the global biodiversity and climate agenda.
