As part of his working visit to Kenya, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, held a bilateral meeting with Varsen Aghabekyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the organizational and agenda-related preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which Armenia will host in 2026. They underlined the importance of international cooperation and ensuring the effective participation of national delegations.
The sides also explored opportunities for knowledge exchange and partnership-building within the framework of the conference.
In addition, they discussed prospects for broader cooperation in the field of environmental protection, particularly the advancement of joint initiatives in biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
