Two photovoltaic solar stations were transferred to the administrative district of Shagap

Two photovoltaic solar stations built within the framework of the grant program " Strengthening land based adaptation capacity in communities adjacent to protected areas in Armenia" were transferred to the administrative district of Shaghap.
The grant program " Strengthening land based adaptation capacity in communities adjacent to protected areas in Armenia " is funded by the Adaptation Fund of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (Adaptation Fund).
The purpose of the four-year program, launched in 2019, is to reduce the vulnerability of the climate of local communities adjacent to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve and Dilijan National Park, strengthen agricultural and institutional planning capabilities in the face of climate change, and increase the level of adaptation.
The construction of solar stations with a capacity of 14 kW and 24 kW, designed to operate two pumps, was carried out as part of the first component of the program (the introduction of smart agricultural methods in degraded areas and buffer zones). The operation of the stations allows residents to reduce irrigation costs by saving the amount charged for electricity.
The ceremony of awarding the solar stations was attended by the management staff of the Office for the implementation of environmental Programs of the Ministry of Environment, representatives of organizations engaged in construction, control and author control, acting head of the enlarged community of Vedi Garik Sargsyan and the head of the administrative district of Shaghap.
