The World Bank's "Country Climate and Development Report" (CCDR) Was Presented

The official launch of the World Bank’s Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) was held in Yerevan, serving as a key platform for collaborative dialogue on climate change and sustainable development priorities.
The event brought together representatives from government institutions, the private sector, civil society, academia, and international partner organizations. Its primary objective was to foster public-private partnerships, present the Armenian Government’s priorities for building a sustainable and resilient economy, and establish a new foundation for aligning private investments with donor support.
Prepared by the World Bank, the report provides strategic guidance for Armenia to address the challenges of climate change while fostering economic growth. It highlights the importance of enhancing energy security and independence, promoting the sustainable management of natural resources, and improving food and water security. Special attention is given to advancing the green transition in the energy sector, particularly the shift from gas to solar energy.
Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, emphasized in his welcoming speech:
“Climate change is one of the greatest global challenges of our time. Armenia is committed to addressing it through coordinated and sustained actions. The CCDR report provides a crucial foundation for identifying existing challenges, setting development priorities, and enhancing policies. We firmly believe that achieving our climate goals requires a participatory approach, behavioral change, and collective effort.”
The Deputy Minister also expressed his gratitude to all partners for their effective cooperation and continued commitment to joint action.
