At its session on September 11, 2025, the Executive approved a draft Government resolution stipulating that the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity will be held at the “Meridian Expo Center” in 2026.
To this end, the Government of the Republic of Armenia will enter into a public procurement contract with “Meridian Holding” CJSC for the provision of related services.
To ensure the high-level organization of the event, a reallocation will be made in the 2025 state budget of the Republic of Armenia, with AMD 5,775.0 million earmarked for the organization of the COP17. The funds will be used for renovation, construction, and improvement of facilities at the “Meridian Expo Center”, bringing the entire venue up to the standards required for hosting the event at a high level.
It should be noted that the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity is scheduled to take place in Armenia from 18 to 30 October 2026.
