On January 26-27, a seminar on " Maastricht Recommendations on Promoting Effective Public Participation in Decision-making in Environmental Matters" is being held in the Republic of Armenia.
The seminar is aimed at studying international conventional regulations and the best international experience in stimulating and organizing public participation on environmental issues of representatives of the public administration system, local governments, public organizations, academia.
Greeting the international experts and organizers, RA Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan noted that this event is important and timely in the sense that a draft RA law "On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise" is currently being developed and the theoretical and practical knowledge given during the seminar will contribute to the generalization of work on the development of the law.
The seminar is held with the support of the UNECE and OSCE.
