Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, today received Davit Nersisyan, President of the Armenian Red Cross Society, along with other representatives of the organization. 
During the meeting, several areas of mutual interest were discussed, including the implementation of environmental programmes, climate change mitigation, disaster risk reduction, and public awareness-raising initiatives.
The Minister expressed high appreciation for the readiness of the Armenian Red Cross Society to support the Ministry’s initiatives in these critical areas.
One of the key topics of discussion was the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, scheduled to be held in Armenia in 2026. The parties also explored potential cooperation within the framework of the conference’s organizational activities, particularly regarding the engagement of specialized volunteers.
The Minister expressed confidence that close cooperation between state and public institutions can make a significant contribution to the effective implementation of environmental policy.
