Preparations for COP17 of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity are in an active phase.
Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, is visiting Armenia to review the preparatory processes for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
During her visit, Astrid Schomaker, together with representatives of the Ministry of Environment of the RA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA, visited the “Meridian” Expo Center to review the progress of renovation, construction, and modernization works. The Expo Center is expected to fully meet international standards and accommodate all organizational and technical requirements for the COP17.
Let us recall that the 2025 state budget provided the necessary funding for the proper organization of the conference: 5,775.0 million drams were allocated for the event. These funds will be used to upgrade and equip the “Meridian” Expo Center, ensuring that the conference meets the highest international standards.
