The Ministry of Environment of the RA and the Academy of Justice established a new partnership to advance environmental rights.
Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, and Sergey Arakelyan, Rector of the Academy of Justice, signed a memorandum of understanding that serves s a basis for developing environmental law, ensuring the effective implementation of environmental agreements, and increasing access to environmental justice.
Gevorg Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Mari Chakryan, Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Aarhus National Coordinator, also participated in the signing of the memorandum of understanding.

• The initiative aims to establish ongoing and constructive cooperation between the two institutions, including:
• Developing and implementing training modules based on the three pillars of environmental law and the Aarhus Convention;
• Organizing joint events, seminars, and conferences to raise environmental awareness among justice system professionals;
• Expanding cooperation with international partners.

This memorandum represents an important step in both strengthening the application of environmental law and promoting the continuous development of professional knowledge and skills within the justice system.
