During his working visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Kirsten Schuijt, WWF Director General.
The meeting focused on the long-term, productive cooperation between Armenia and WWF, ongoing environmental programmes, and several initiatives related to the organization and agenda of COP17.
The parties particularly discussed the “Reintroduction of the Red Deer to Armenia” programme and the prospects for establishing and developing ecological corridors.
Kirsten Schuijt expressed WWF’s readiness to support Armenia in ensuring a successful COP17 presidency.
Minister Matevosyan highly appreciated WWF’s strategic proposals and emphasized that Armenia will host COP17 guided by the principles of inclusiveness and transparency.
