Within the framework of IPBES, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with David Cooper, Chair of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. 
Taking into account Mr. Cooper’s long-standing experience within the framework of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the parties discussed a number of Convention-related processes, including organizational and agenda issues concerning COP17, which Armenia will host in October 2026.
The sides exchanged views on progress in the implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and identified priority areas for cooperation.
Issues related to strengthening financing mechanisms and promoting international cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation were also discussed.
