Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA received Françoise Jacob, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia. 
The key topic of the meeting was the organization of the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which Armenia will host in 2026.
Aram Meymaryan provided an update on the current state of preparations for the conference, addressing several practical organizational matters. These included infrastructure solutions, the involvement of both international and local partners, as well as the organization of the event's communications and key focal points. He emphasized that the conference presents a significant opportunity to showcase Armenia as a country committed to environmental values and leading efforts in biodiversity conservation.
Françoise Jacob expressed interest in the steps being taken to organize the conference, reaffirming the support of the UN system for ensuring the event is held at a high level and with maximum effectiveness. She also highlighted the inclusive nature of the conference, emphasizing the importance of involving civil society, the private sector, and youth in the process.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the joint promotion of the environmental agenda.
The meeting marked another step in strengthening the cooperation between Armenia and the UN, focusing on mutually beneficial actions aimed at preserving global biodiversity and advancing the implementation of sustainable development goals.
