Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Held Discussions with Colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA on the Organizational Matters of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17)

Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, held a meeting with his colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA on the organizational matters of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be hosted by Armenia in 2026.
Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, Sergo Atanesyan, Secretary General, heads of specialized departments, Robert Abisoghomonyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RA, Mher Margaryan, COP17 Special Negotiator, and other representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA.
The discussion focused on Armenia’s effective engagement in international processes, its role within the global environmental agenda, and the specific steps required to ensure the high-level organization of the conference.
COP17 is a unique opportunity for Armenia to:

  • strengthen its position and role in shaping international environmental policy,
  • promote cooperation with leading partners around the world to conserve biodiversity.

The Minister reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to organizing the conference at a high level and positioning the country as a responsible and forward-looking partner on the international stage.
