Acting Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan was on a working visit to “State Museum of Nature of Armenia” of the Ministry of Environment

Deputy Minister A. Mazmanyan along with the newly appointed Acting Director  of State Museum of Nature of Armenia L. Galstyan toured the exhibition halls of the museum. Rare specimens of the flora and fauna of the Republic of Armenia are displayed in the four halls of the museum. Through a short excursion they got acquainted with the exhibits of the unique (endemic) species of the landscape diversity, flora and fauna of the territory of Armenia.
After the tour, the Acting Minister held a consultation with the staff, first to thank for the quality of the accomplished work, then to listen to the existing problems, to discuss the further development projects of the museum.
“I am greatly impressed with the exhibits. Any junior, middle or high school pupil will change his/her worldview, from linguistic thinking to general perceptions of the external world, after entering and touring the museum. Each Armenian visiting this museum will value his/her existence. It seems that God has not spared anything for our country: so much rich biodiversity, rich subsoil, minerals. All we have to do is to properly manage and preserve our national wealth," said Acting Minister Romanos Petrosyan.
Discussed plans to establish closer cooperation with tourism companies.
Acting Minister asked the Deputy Minister to embark on negotiations on the inclusion of our museum in Yerevan City Tours.
The issue of re-equipping and replenishing the logistics base of the museum, as well as the introduction of updated information technologies was remarkably highlighted.
"The museum is, first of all, an important eco-educational, social-educational component for us. We already have certain directions of vision development.  The problems of improving the building conditions of the museum and having comfortable storages in accordance with international standards, creating offices necessary for scientific research, restoration, cleaning, chemical research, chemical disinfection laboratories are all inventoried, and effective steps are being assumed to tackle thereof,” the Minister said and informed the partners that presently,  a number of negotiations are in progress in those directions. At the end of the meeting, the Acting Minister asked the Museum’s staff to adhere to the urgings of the Ministry of Health to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
