A document was signed on joint activities envisaged within the period of prohibition of fishing and craw fishing in Lake Sevan

According to the order (November 27) of RA Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan on ensuring spawning of sig and ishkhan fishes, fishing and craw fishing in Lake Sevan and the rivers flowing into it will temporary be banned on December 8-25. A consultation about activities to be undertaken for the prohibition of fishing and craw fishing in Lake Sevan was held in Gegharkunik Regional Administration where representatives of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection, Police, Gegharkunik Regional Administration and the members of Lake Sevan adjacent communities were engaged. At the beginning RA Minister of Nature Proetction Aramayis Grigoryan, Deputy Chief of the RA Police Samvel Hovhannisyan and Gegharkunik Deputy Governor Andranik Hakobyan signed the project documents on the joint activities of 3 units to be implemented within the period of prohibition of fishing and craw fishing in Lake Sevan. According to the Minister’s order, “Sevan NP” SNCO head was assigned to ensure the dismissal of all fishing appliances, swimming means, lodgings from the shore, supervision over the areas alongside the banks, organize inspections collaborating with the State Environmental Inspectorate of the RA MNP Staff, the RA Police of Gegharkunik Region, representatives of communities and Gegharkunik Regional Administration until December 8. Due to the joint activity plan it was defined to have an explanation talk with the residents of Vardenik, Maxenis and Masrik riverside communities and serious observation over the above mentioned riverbanks. All kinds of fishing and swimming appliances have been banned in Lake Sevan territory. Inspections of sig fish sell in Yerevan and regional markets are envisaged under the activity plan by the State Environmental Inspectorate of the RA MNP Staff, the RA Police of Gegharkunik Region, representatives of communities and Gegharkunik Regional Administration. It has been assigned to perform inspections at the highways adjunct to Lake Sevan and rivers flowing into the latter.
