In his speech, the Deputy Minister underscored the importance of a balanced and systematic approach to capacity development, highlighting the need to enhance scientific-technical, political-legal, traditional, and local knowledge, as well as institutional and negotiation capacities, to ensure the effective implementation of the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity.

The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO Officially Joined the South-Eastern Europe Multi-Hazard Early Warning Advisory System
The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the RA officially joined the South-East European Multi-Hazard Early Warning Advisory System (SEE-MHEWS-A), which unites the national hydrometeorological services of 20 countries.
Armenia’s membership became possible through the unanimous agreement of all member states of the system, reflecting a high level of regional trust and cooperation.

Within the framework of the 27th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-27) under the Convention on Biological Diversity, held in Panama, an event entitled “From Strategy to Implementation: Cultivating Soil Biodiversity by Integrating Agroecology in NBSAPs and National Food System Policies” was organized, in which Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, participated and delivered a speech.

Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The discussions focused on global environmental processes and new opportunities for bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding preparations and key agenda areas for the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) to be held in Brazil in November 2025, and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia in October 2026.
