The Current Work on Enhanced Control Measures Due to the Whitefish Spawning Period Was Discussed
Today, the process of implementing the joint event program during the whitefish spawning period in Lake Sevan was discussed in an expanded format. The participating departments reported on the work already done and presented the problems. It was reported that meetings with fishermen are continuing to explain the importance of the fishing ban during the spawning period.

The Main Problems in the Water Sector and the Proposed Conceptual Approaches for Developing a Comprehensive Strategy for the Sector Were Discussed
During the two-day workshop, experts from the USAID-funded "Improving Armenia's Water Resources Management" project presented and discussed the proposed conceptual approaches for developing a water sector strategy and the brief content of the strategy with the representatives of beneficiary state agencies.

After welcoming the partners at the Ministry of Environment, Hakob Simidyan first congratulated on the launch of the "RESILAND: Armenia Resilient Landscapes Project” and noted that, especially in the context of hosting the COP17 conference in the Republic of Armenia, the programme components aimed at restoring biodiversity and protecting ecosystems are extremely important.
